Become a Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Certified Volunteer Advocate
Counselor-advocates provide counseling, advocacy, education, and referrals to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking and stalking. They answer crisis calls on ELAWC’s 24 hour Rape and Battering Hotline and respond in person to hospitals and police stations to provide one-on-one support to survivors and significant others. After successful completion of the Counselor Advocate Training, volunteer counselor-advocates make a one year commitment to weekly 4-8 hour shifts in the hotline and accompaniment program.
Requires enrollment in a 65 hour training and certification course
Trainings are offered twice a year in the Spring and Fall, the next training will be in Fall 2017
